I mean I’m into making my 14th record now, so there are quite a few that I like.ĭK: Which of your lesser known songs (on this Anthology) are yourĪdams: I like the songs where vocals really matched the song – things like ‘Please Forgive Me’ and ‘Why Do You Have To Be So Hard To Love’ are good examples of that. Basically, it was a trip down memory lane.ĭK: Of your hit songs, which ones are your favorites and why?Īdams: I always get asked this question and I always say I like the songs everyone else likes, but honestly this package is way too small to put all my favorites on. It was an interesting project as it pushed me to dig up photos and technical notes from the ’80s and ’90s of when songs were written, recorded and mixed and so on – something for the fans that know these songs and would like more detail. I ended up changing the selection of songs a few times to get something that wasn’t just a hits package. I like the idea of helping people help people. There is little sense in attempting to change external conditions, you must first change inner beliefs, then outer conditions will change accordingly.

There’s not an instruction manual on how to deal with success, so you just have to rely on having great friends and a good team. It doesn’t matter what the genre nowadays, it’s so much harder than it ever was. I feel quite sad for the young musicians coming up because they may never get to pay their rent properly. Search your heart, search your soul, and when you find me there you’ll search no more. You go away for a month and there’s three more skyscrapers. I’m amazed every time I come back to Vancouver at how much it’s changed. I didn’t know if I’d be successful at it, but I knew I’d be doing something in it. I always knew I’d be in music in some sort of capacity. When you conquer negative attitudes of doubt and fear you conquer failure. Thoughts of doubt and fear are pathways to failure. Show charity and goodwill to others and it will return to enhance your own life in many wonderful ways.
